12:32AM

I have signed up for Prizefight.co.uk
I can feel my bank balance crying already...

Also, I'm using one of these Hypnosis CD Book things. Paul McKenna's "I Can Make You Thin". The CD seems ok, relaxes me and all that, maybe I will lose some weight. As a bonus, Mum's found a weighing scales that measures higher than my weight, so I will finally know how heavy I am... Amazing....

Happy New Year! (Too late. Again. Wonderful)

6:14PM

It's my birthday! Hurrah! 23! Hurrah!
Going to the pub with the flatmates and some "other people", which is a first for me ever. Namely, this is the first birthday I will have that I will be spending a sizeable chunk of it away from other people...

Worrying, huh?

12:54PM

Oh blimey! I haven't done an update in literally months! Right then...

I'm still working for a directory enquiries company, but now the department that deals with only Orange mobile phone calls. It's better than before.
I still use Orange as my phone provider. Amazingly. My phone is now the Nokia 6230, which is ok.
I'm still working on Gametactics.com (We're going through an overhaul, slowly. Painfully slowly)
My Coca-Cola addiction still exists, but now I have switched to Diet instead of regular. This saves some calories, but still rots my teeth...
I'm in a new flat with 2 friends of mine: Dai and Emma. It's a bigger place than before, but the bus service is fairly unreliable.

On to Christmas. The evil one of Mum's house is not home at the moment for reasons I cannot go into online. This means that Mum has got the quietest Christmas planned ever. It's still quite relaxing, which is a plus. The Gifts:

  • A poker book
  • A "How to Draw Manga" book for Guns and Military stuff. Yay.
  • Errant Story Vol 1
  • Battlefield 2: Special Forces (They add in Zip Lines and Night Vision! Wooo!)
  • Assorted cheques and stuff
  • A light saber. Yes, this is fun, and also hurts plenty.

Charlotte has an exercise machine for Chrimbo. It's one of those things you sit on and swing your legs all over the place. Looks lethal, and thanks to my weight I can't use it! Hurrah!

More later once I have managed to play on the PS2 some more...

(Yes, Ladies and Gents, I am back!)

4:39PM

Woke up this morning after an early night thanks to a headache. Strangely, my right foot hurts. Normally, I would think it would be something to do with the sudden cramps and leg spasms I have on a rare occasion some mornings, but it isn't. It's the wrong leg. This confuses me.

Today was spent thus:
- Room clearing (Half done)
- Organisation of things that need organising (...some of it is done)
- Cleaning monitor (...Yep)
- Updating computer/general maintenance (Spybot et al are running in the background)

I really have to write more for GT, but housekeeping is calling....

Would it be seen as overly ambitious to try and write a book?

I'm thinking about it.

Comments?

10:49AM

Happy New Year!

And how do I celebrate? By going to work, working an afternoon/evening shift and having to put up with the really bad public transport made worse thanks to it being New Year's Day!

Yay Me!

8:24PM

1 - Max - Sorry. It was dumb. Sorry.

2 - Work is being a pain, because some unnamed person in Cardiff that controls the scheduling has refused me work on Xmas day. I can go home on Xmas eve... but I'm still working from 6pm till 10pm on the 26th... my birthday... In short, I would either have to go home for Xmas, then come back here for that night, and then go back home again tomorrow, therefore allowing Mum to spend twice as much on petrol than I would actually earn for those 4 hours work... or I stay here over Xmas day and my birthday, alone, and then go home on the 27th. My immediate boss is trying to sort something out.

3 - Max - Sorry.

10 packets of Super Noodles
Persil capsules
And a mug of tea.

10:10AM

My answerphone message is a really bad self-made version of the Muppet Show tune. And apparently a Swansea friend has listened...

"...You disturb me...
...You disturb me a lot...

...Call me back"

7:41PM

I've been approached in the street by a bunch of kids hanging outside the local pub

Obnoxious one - "Excuse me..."
Me - "Yes?"
Obnoxious one - "Would you get us some booze please?"
Me - "Hmm..." (Mock thinks for a second) "...No..." (Walks on)

I should have done something funnier like "Only when you bring a note from your mother", or something like that...

I love my connection! 91KB/s connection! As opposed to the 4.1 I had on the farm before!

ROCK ON!

7:56AM

And now for the "In Short" Catch Up

1 - I've got a job as a "Phone Monkey", best entertainment you can be paid for, aside from presumably porn-star, porn-director or beer taster....
2 - I moved to Swansea 3 weeks ago for said job
3 - The day before yesterday, I got NTL cable internet. I wonder what the caps are on the service...

This morning, I found out the clocks went back 1 hour. This meant that I got up at 6:30am for something at 10am instead of 7:30am. Whoops! This is why I need a TV again, people, so that I know what the hell I am missing out on!

12:31AM

I've got a job in Swansea. This means I am moving there. I will have to start my life from scratch, and hope that I can get online about a month after moving there.

Wish me luck!

11:11PM

The day before yesterday, Baldy took me to Tescos (I needed soft food thanks to a tooth extraction. Fun!). Anyway, after a bout of boredom, I walked around the store to the book section. It had a pile of stuff on the shelves that I wanted, and all of them cheap as hell! I picked up Bill Bryson - A Short History of Nearly Everything which was labeled at 3.73 GBP, and ran to the checkout before they changed it to a higher, more worthy price. The guy at the checkout charged me 4.73 GBP! I queried this, and he told me to go to the customer services area, which I did. The lady saw the problem between till price and label price, and gave me back what I paid.

I then got confused. I don't usually walk out of shops holding goods that I got for free, because I'm not a thief, so I questioned why I got all the money back instead of just the pound that I was overcharged. She said it was store policy, that if a customer found an item that was labeled differently to what the tills say, and it's a cheap enough item, the customer gets to keep it for no charge, but if the item is too expensive to do this then the customer is given a hefty discount.

Happy, I walked to the car with my completely free book, with all my finances intact. Dad then got in the car, and I told him about it. He felt a bit sad, knowing full well that by the time he gets to the store, picked up the book and paid for it at the checkout, the price would have been corrected.

He is waiting for me to finish it so he can read it...

12:37PM

Well, I'm finally attempting it. I am now looking for a job in Swansea, so I can get away from El Pollo, Baldy and the lack of decent work where I live. That means I am...
(a) Looking for a job in Swansea
(b) Looking for a flat/room in Swansea

Any advice would be sweet!

4:25AM - The Sims 2 - Worrying

Today, I bit the bullet and bought The Sims 2 from Game (Hey, I had a money off voucher that was going to run out soon, might as well use it for review material...)

At 6pm I installed it
I then spent time raising the family, trying to get things right before old age kicks in, and all that stuff.
The only time I wanted to do something other than play the game, was to go to the loo.
I got up, went to the bathroom, came back, and then sat down to play some more.

And then something strange was happening. I knew full well that there was a huge amount of noise as the rabble of a family watched TV, ate and generally did what families do, and that my headphones block out a huge amount of said noise. Just that the tiny break I had between sessions allowed me to hear something completely different to the usual family noise. There was silence. I thenk looked at the clock.

12:15am

I'd spent over 6 hours playing The Sims 2, in which time everyone else in the house went to sleep without telling me!
This didn't keep me from my game, however, since I have just played it for 4 hours more. This leaves me just one conclusion...

Maxis has created one of the most addictive games ever.
Expect the Daily Mail "Outrage!!!!ONE!" headlines about a declining workforce shortly...

11:50AM

Yesterday, I got new glasses. They were ordered earlier this week and were finished yesterday. The old pair that I was using happened to press against the side of my face, and thus irritate over the last 50% of it's life, hence new ones were required.
Aside from the optician commenting that I have a fat head (in a nice way) and noting my skin is more acidic than normal and therefore recommending glasses made from pure gold, titanium or plastic, the test was uneventful. What is good is that I went to Specsavers, and used their 2 for 1 deal, despite paying the cost of 2 normal pairs of glasses...

Pair 1 is housed in black-ish frames, with plastic arms and a metal front. The arms can swing almost through 180 degrees, instead of the usual "Barely 90", and the lenses are these "React To Light" ones (Because I'm light sensitive) that go grey in sunlight.
Pair 2 is in silver-ish frames, plastic arms with small round metal bits at the end, along with a metal front. The arms do the same as Pair 1, but not as far, but they are wider. The lenses are just normal clear ones.
I bought a new glasses case to house these two whilst I'm going around outside, and then I found out Specsavers supply cases and cloths with their glasses free. I felt stupid, especially since my specifically bought case cannot hold my silver glasses due to size.

As soon as I got home, I put my old glasses down to try the new ones in front of the others. For reasons I have yet to understand, the old pair decided to break, be it by their own free will or via some animal/unknowing human foot on a table...

I have 2 sets of glasses, and 3 cases. Fun.
